I have never recommended a speed game before, but Captain Sonar blew me out of the water with its quick paced action where two captains try to hunt each other down in real time with the help of their crew. You would think this would be a chaotic situation and it absolutely is, but the excitement is sharp and the jobs of the different crew men varied to allow for high replayability value.
The box recommends ages 14+, but I’ve labeled the game as suitable for ages 10+. My son and two of his eleven year old friends caught on well after a couple of games. An adult probably needs to be there to guide children that young – or the children need to watch a youtube video to teach them how to play.
